29 Jesus
said to him, “The greatest Law is this, ‘Listen, Jewish
people, The Lord our God is one Lord! 30 You must love the Lord your God with all your
heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your
strength.’ This is the first Law.
31 “The second Law is this: ‘You must love your
neighbor as yourself.’No other Law is greater than these.”
he
went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.
I have heard this taught only
once that I can remember
and it was explained that this was an
individualized teach
specifically for this
young man.
Well that is you Laodiceian
Pastor for you.
Sorry, but this is
repeated several time in the Word.
Any time the Holy
Spirit repeats something several times
in the Word we
need to, and we better take a very close look.
God has one purpose for repeating Him Self
many time in the Word,
He is trying to keep as many people
out of hell as He possibly can.
Mark 10:21
Then Jesus,
looking at him,
loved him,
and said to him,
“One thing you lack:
Go your way, sell
whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven;
and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.
If you have ever seen a Christian
leader
living a life style of much Material gain
and teach you that if you will
at least give your 10% to what God
gives you,
plus give an offering along the way
you can have much Material gain like
him.
It Is A Lie From The Pit Of
Hell.
They
Have Taken The Scriptures
They Use To Teach Earthly
Prosperity
Totally Out Of Context Of The New Testament.
This Next Scripture Make That Very Clear.
Luke 12:22-34
New King James Version (NKJV)
Do Not Worry
22 Then He said
to His disciples,
“Therefore I say to
you,
do not worry about
your life,
what you will
eat;
nor about the
body, what you will put on.
23 Life is more than food,
and the body is more than clothing.
24 Consider
the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap,
which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them.
Of how much more value are you than the
birds?
( God Is In
Control )
25 And
which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
26 If you then are not
able to do the least, why are you
anxious for the rest?
27 Consider
the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin;
and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like
one of these.
28 If then God so clothes
the grass,
which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven,
how much more will He clothe you, O
you of little
faith?
29 “And do not seek what
you should eat
or
what you should drink,
nor have an anxious mind.
30 For
all these things the nations
of the world seek after,
and your Father knows
that you need these things.
31 But
seek the kingdom of God,
and all these things
shall be added to you.
32 “Do
not fear, little flock,
for it is your Father’s good pleasure
to give you the kingdom.
33 Sell
what you have and give alms;
provide yourselves money bags
which do not grow old,
a treasure in the
heavens
that does not fail,
where no thief approaches nor moth
destroys.
34 For where
your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
How many really good
sermons have you heard
preached on heavenly treasure?
I worked in financial
services
for several years and
I was introduced to numerous books and tapes
on
how to have earthly treasures
by authors that are Christian and non-Christian
alike.
The Lord mentions heavenly treasure
several times in the gospels.
In the
long run,
which do we get to keep the longest.
There is a major BIG TO DO
about how to get earthly treasure,
yet, there has never been any TO DO
about heavenly treasure
that I have ever heard,
more less a major BIG TO DO.
So I introduce to you possibly and new prospective,
Heavenly Treasure.
Before we began, lets
stop and look at the foundation scriptures for this study.
"And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, 'These
things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the
creation of God:
(Rev
3:15 NKJV) "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could
wish you were cold or hot.
(Rev
3:16 NKJV) "So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I
will vomit you out of My mouth.
(Rev
3:17 NKJV) "Because you say, 'I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need
of nothing'; and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and
naked;
(Rev
3:18 NKJV) "I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you
may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your
nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may
see.
(Rev
3:19 NKJV) "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous
and repent.
(Rev
3:20 NKJV) "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears Myvoice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he
with Me.
(Rev
3:21 NKJV) "To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne,
as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
(Rev
3:22 NKJV) "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the
churches."' "
(Mat 19:23 NKJV)
Then Jesus said to His disciples, "Assuredly,
I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
(Mat 19:24 NKJV) "And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go
through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of
God."
(Mat 19:25 NKJV) When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished,
saying, "Who then can be saved?" (Mat 19:26 NKJV) But Jesus looked at them and
said to them, "With men this is impossible,
but with God all things are possible."
2 Cor 11:13 &
14 NKJV
(
2 Cor 11:13 NKJV) For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming
themselves into apostles of Christ.
(2 Cor 11:14 NKJV) And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an
angel of light.
