Chapter 1

Building a Heavenly Bank Account

How many sermons have you heard preached on Heavenly Treasure?

I have heard plenty on what God wants me to have on earth and I am constantly bombarded from every direction on how to get all the earthly treasures that I could ever dream of.

But what about Heavenly Treasure?

How many really good sermons have you heard preached on heavenly treasure? I worked in financial services for several years and I was introduced to numerous books and tapes on how to have earthly treasures by authors that are Christian and non-Christian alike. The Lord mentions heavenly treasure several times in the gospels. In the long run, which do we get to keep the longest. There is a major BIG TO DO about how to get earthly treasure, yet, there has never been any TO DO about heavenly treasure that I have ever heard, more less a major BIG TO DO. So I introduce to you possibly and new prospective, Heavenly Treasure.

Before we began, lets stop and look at the foundation scriptures for this study.

(Rev 3:14 NKJV) "And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, 'These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God:

(Rev 3:15 NKJV) "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.

(Rev 3:16 NKJV) "So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

(Rev 3:17 NKJV) "Because you say, 'I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing'; and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked;

(Rev 3:18 NKJV) "I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.

(Rev 3:19 NKJV) "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.

(Rev 3:20 NKJV) "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

(Rev 3:21 NKJV) "To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

(Rev 3:22 NKJV) "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."' "

A major part of churches and church members in the U.S. may qualify for the definition of the Laodicean Church.

That is a serious accusation I Know. So to start this study I challenge you to consider this.

The doctrine of the new testament church should be grounded in the words of Jesus found in the gospels. If the principles that I present in this book are truly totally Biblical, totally balanced with the teaching of Christ, and with the whole Bible, many Christians have some major changes to make in the U.S. if we want to be apart of the rapture.

Before We Go Any Further,  I Want To Make A Very Clear Point Here.  To Gain Heavenly Treasure Does Not Mean God Requires You To Live In Poverty.

It Does Mean That There Is A Whole New Level Of Faith To Walk In. Walking In The Flow Of Giving And Receiving That Jesus Taught Requires A Life Style That This World and This World's System Can Not Understand.

God Wants To Supply You With Much Earthly Gain. What You Do With This Earthly Gain Is What Will Separate You From This World And The Laodicean Church. You Must Remember,That Your Ability To Understand And Obey God's Word Is A Gift To You From Him, And Not An Ability That You Possess Within Yourself.

(Mat 19:23 NKJV) Then Jesus said to His disciples, "Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
(Mat 19:24 NKJV) "And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
(Mat 19:25 NKJV) When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, "Who then can be saved?"
(Mat 19:26 NKJV) But Jesus looked at them and said to them,
"With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

As you continue, I want to create enough interest within you on the topic, Heavenly Treasure, that you get very serious about searching the scriptures for yourself. You need to find Godís truths in the Word that you base your beliefs on and not just what I or any other person tells you. I believe in balance in all that God does and I have dedicate a whole section in this study to balance. But as I say in the section on balance and I say here, Godís Balance, Not Our Balance That We Work Into Godís Word.

So, what about heavenly treasure? As I just stated, not only have I not heard many, if any sermons on heavenly treasure, I also know of no teaching that offers me a plan to develop a heavenly account. What will be done in this study is provide for you a detailed outline about what the Bible has to say about heavenly treasure. This study will also provide important insight as to what you may do to develop a plan to provide for yourself much heavenly treasure. You will learn that just as you may use an earthly financial advisor for your earthly investments, you may use Godís Word to develop a plan to make heavenly investments. The major difference that you will soon discover is the percentage of investment into your heavenly treasure is a little different than the percentages your earthly advisor will usually suggest for your earthly accounts. God is kind of like that though. It is all or nothing with Him.

Please understand, it may be very hard for any Laodicean  Christians to make it through the first four or five chapters in this book. Do yourself a favor, donít skip ahead as you read, and finish this book. Your out come may be much different than your first impression.

Very Important Note.

Many many Christians through the ages have been mislead by individuals that were truly well meaning, sincere Born Again Christians,  yet misinformed or deceived themselves. There have been many others that fell prey to satan's uncanny  ability to deceive.

( 2 Cor 11:13 NKJV) For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ.

(2 Cor 11:14 NKJV) And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.

Before you act on anything in this book:

1)  Complete the book.

2) Get on your face before God with the Word and have each Scripture that you are planning on taking action on revealed and confirmed in your heart by God.

There are a lot of Scriptures in this book.  If you do not have time to read and meditate on them all, You may act,   do or not do ,   based on something other than the truth of the Word.

(Josh 1:7 NKJV) "Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.

(Josh 1:8 NKJV) "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

(Josh 1:9 NKJV) "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."

(Isa 52:11 NKJV) Depart! Depart! Go out from there, Touch no unclean thing; Go out from the midst of her, Be clean, You who bear the vessels of the LORD.

(Isa 52:12 NKJV) For you shall not go out with haste, Nor go by flight; For the LORD will go before you, And the God of Israel will be your rear guard.

(Psa 119:133 NKJV) Direct my steps by Your word, And let no iniquity have dominion over me.

(Prov 3:6 NKJV) In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

(Prov 11:5 NKJV) The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way aright, But the wicked will fall by his own wickedness.

(Isa 61:8 NKJV) "For I, the LORD, love justice; I hate robbery for burnt offering; I will direct their work in truth, And will make with them an everlasting covenant.

(2 Th 3:5 NKJV)
Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ.
