Matthew 24:37-42 New Living Translation (NLT)

37 “When the Son of Man returns,

it will be like it was in Noah’s day.

38 In those days before the flood,

the people were enjoying banquets and

 parties and weddings

right up to the time Noah entered his boat.

39 People didn’t realize what was going to happen

until the flood came and swept them all away.

That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes.

40 “Two men will be working together in the field;

one will be taken, the other left.

41 Two women will be grinding flour at the mill;

one will be taken, the other left.

42 “So you, too, must keep watch! For you don’t

know what day your Lord is coming.

Luke 17:26-35 New Living Translation (NLT)

26 “When the Son of Man returns,

it will be like it was in Noah’s day.

27 In those days, the people enjoyed

banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time

 Noah entered his boat and

the flood came and destroyed them all.

28 “And the world will be as it was in the days of Lot.

People went about their daily business—eating and drinking,

buying and selling, farming and building—

29 until the morning Lot left Sodom.

Then fire and burning sulfur rained down

from heaven and destroyed them all.

30 Yes, it will be ‘business as usual’

right up to the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

31 On that day a person out on the deck of a roof

must not go down into the house to pack.

A person out in the field must not return home.

32 Remember what happened to Lot’s wife!

33 If you cling to your life, you will lose it,

and if you let your life go, you will save it.

34 That night two people will be asleep in one bed;

one will be taken, the other left.

35 Two women will be grinding flour together at the mill;

one will be taken, the other left.

Matthew 25:31-46 New Life Version (NLV)

The Sheep and the Goats

31 “When the Son of Man comes in His shining-greatness,

He will sit down on His throne of greatness.

All the angels will be with Him.

32 All the nations of the earth will be gathered before Him.

He will divide them from each other as a shepherd divides

the sheep from the goats.

,,,

(Them Meaning The Individual People)

,,,

33 He will put the sheep on His right side,

but the goats He will put on His left side.

34 “Then the King will say to those on His right side,

‘Come, you who have been called by My Father.

Come into the holy nation

that has been made ready for you

 before the world was made.

35 For I was hungry and you gave Me food to eat.

I was thirsty and you gave Me water to drink.

I was a stranger and you gave Me a room.

36 I had no clothes and you gave Me clothes to wear.

I was sick and you cared for Me.

I was in prison and you came to see Me.’

37 “Then those that are right with God will say,

‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You?

When did we see You thirsty and give You a drink?

38 When did we see You a stranger and give You a room?

When did we see You had no clothes and we gave You clothes?

39 And when did we see You sick or in prison and we came to You?’

40 Then the King will say,

‘For sure, I tell you,

because you did it to one of the least of My brothers,

you have done it to Me.’

41 “Then the King will say to those on His left side,

‘Go away from Me! You are guilty!

Go into the fire that lasts forever.

It has been made ready for the devil and his angels.

42 For I was hungry but you did not give Me food to eat.

I was thirsty but you did not give Me water to drink.

43 I was a stranger but you did not give Me a room.

I had no clothes but you did not give Me clothes.

I was sick and in prison but you did not come to see Me.’

44 “Then they will ask,

‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger?

When did we see You without clothes or sick or in prison

and did not care for You?’

45 Then He will say to them,

‘For sure, I tell you, because you did not do it to

one of the least of these,

you did not do it to Me.’

46 These will go to the place where

they will be punished forever.

But those right with God

will have life that lasts forever.”

1 John 2:12-17 New Living Translation (NLT)

12 I am writing to you who are God’s children
because your sins have been forgiven through Jesus.[a]
13 I am writing to you who are mature in the faith[b]
because you know Christ, who existed from the beginning.
I am writing to you who are young in the faith
because you have won your battle with the evil one.
14 I have written to you who are God’s children
    because you know the Father.
I have written to you who are mature in the faith
because you know Christ, who existed from the beginning.
I have written to you who are young in the faith
    because you are strong.
God’s word lives in your hearts,
and you have won your battle with the evil one.

Do Not Love This World

15 Do not love this world nor the things it offers you,

for when you love the world,

you do not have the love of the Father in you.

16 For the world offers only

a craving for physical pleasure,

a craving for everything we see, and

pride in our achievements and possessions.

These are not from the Father,

but are from this world.

17 And this world is fading away,

along with everything that people crave.

But anyone who does what pleases God

will live forever.

2 Timothy 3:1-9 New Living Translation (NLT)

The Dangers of the Last Days

You should know this,

Timothy, that in the last days

there will be very difficult times.

For people will love only themselves and their money.

They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God,

disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful.

 They will consider nothing sacred.

 They will be unloving and unforgiving;

they will slander others and have no self-control.

They will be cruel and hate what is good.

They will betray their friends, be reckless,

be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God.

They will act religious, but they will reject

the power that could make them godly.

Stay away from people like that!

They are the kind who work their way into

people’s homes and win the confidence of[a]

vulnerable women who are burdened

with the guilt of sin and controlled by various desires.

(Such women are forever following new teachings,

but they are never able to understand the truth.)

These teachers oppose the truth just as

 Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses.

They have depraved minds and a counterfeit faith.

But they won’t get away with this for long.

Someday everyone will recognize what fools they are,

just as with Jannes and Jambres.

Colossians 3:1-17 New Living Translation (NLT)

Living the New Life

Since you have been raised to new life with Christ,

set your sights on the realities of heaven,

where Christ sits in the place of honor

at God’s right hand.

Think about the things of heaven,

not the things of earth.

For you died to this life,

and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.

And when Christ, who is your[a] life,

is revealed to the whole world,

you will share in all his glory.

So put to death the sinful,

earthly things lurking within you.

Have nothing to do with sexual immorality,

impurity, lust, and evil desires.

Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater,

worshiping the things of this world.

Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming.[b]

You used to do these things

when your life was still part of this world.

But now is the time to get rid of anger,

rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language.

 Don’t lie to each other,

for you have stripped off your old sinful nature

and all its wicked deeds.

10 Put on your new nature,

and be renewed as you learn to know your

Creator and become like him.

11 In this new life,

it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile,[c]

circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric,

uncivilized,[d] slave, or free.

Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us.

12 Since God chose you to be

the holy people he loves,

you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy,

kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

13 Make allowance for each other’s faults,

and forgive anyone who offends you.

Remember, the Lord forgave you,

so you must forgive others.

14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love,

which binds us all together in perfect harmony.

15 And let the peace that comes

from Christ rule in your hearts.

For as members of one body you are

called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

16 Let the message about Christ, in all its richness,

fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other

with all the wisdom he gives.

Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs

to God with thankful hearts.

17 And whatever you do or say,

do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus,

giving thanks through him to God the Father.

Revelation 3:14-22 New King James Version (NKJV)

The Lukewarm Church

14 “And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans[a] write,

‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness,

the Beginning of the creation of God:

15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot.

I could wish you were cold or hot.

16 So then, because you are lukewarm,

 and neither cold nor hot,

[b] I will vomit you out of My mouth.

17 Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy,

and have need of nothing’—

and do not know that you are

wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked—

18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire,

that you may be rich; and white garments,

that you may be clothed,

that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed;

and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.

19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten.

Therefore be zealous and repent.

20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock.

If anyone hears My voice and opens the door,

I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

 21 To him who overcomes

I will grant to sit with Me on My throne,

as I also overcame and sat down with

My Father on His throne.

22 “He who has an ear,

let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”’”

Matthew 7:24-27 New Life Version (NLV)

Jesus Teaches about Houses Built on Rock or Sand

24 “Whoever hears these words of Mine and does them,

will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.

25 The rain came down. The water came up.

The wind blew and hit the house.

The house did not fall because it was built on rock.

26 Whoever hears these words of Mine and does not do them,

The wind blew and hit the house. The house fell and broke apart.”

God Wants You To Listen To His

Word Ongoing All Through The Day

1.   Sowing to the flesh   VS   Sowing to the Spirit

For the one who sows to his own flesh

will from the flesh reap corruption,

but the one who sows to the Spirit

will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

Galatians 6:8 New Living Translation (NLT)

Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature

will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature.

But those who live to please the Spirit

will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.

2.   Not being chosen   VS   Being chosen

"In the same way, the last will be first,

and the first will be last,

because many are called,

but few are chosen."

One Of The Things If Not The Only Thing

That God Is Making Clear Here

Is You Better Be Thinking

OUT OF THE WORD

Not From What You Think Is Right

Or What Someone Else Told You Is Right.

The Only Thing Right Is Jesus,

Jesus Is The Word Of God.

YOU MUST BE FILLING YOURSELF

WITH THE WORD

(Hear The Word Ongoing Every Day)

Matthew 20 New Living Translation (NLT)

Parable of the Vineyard Workers

20 “For the Kingdom of Heaven is like

the landowner who went out early one morning

to hire workers for his vineyard.

He agreed to pay the normal daily wage[a]

and sent them out to work.

“At nine o’clock in the morning

he was passing through

the marketplace and saw some people

standing around doing nothing.

So he hired them,

telling them he would pay them whatever

was right at the end of the day.

So they went to work in the vineyard.

At noon and again at three o’clock he did the same thing.

“At five o’clock that afternoon he was in town

again and saw some more people standing around.

He asked them, ‘Why haven’t you been working today?’

“They replied, ‘Because no one hired us.’

“The landowner told them,

‘Then go out and join the others in my vineyard.’

“That evening he told the foreman to call

the workers in and pay them,

beginning with the last workers first.

When those hired at five o’clock were paid,

each received a full day’s wage.

10 When those hired first came to get their pay,

they assumed they would receive more.

But they, too, were paid a day’s wage.

11 When they received their pay,

they protested to the owner,

12 ‘Those people worked only one hour,

and yet you’ve paid them just as much as you

paid us who worked all day in the scorching heat.’

13 “He answered one of them,

‘Friend, I haven’t been unfair!

Didn’t you agree to work all day for the usual wage? 1

Take your money and go.

I wanted to pay this last worker the same as you.

15 Is it against the law for me to do what

I want with my money?

Should you be jealous because I am kind to others?’

16 “So those who are last now will be first then,

and those who are first will be last.”

Matthew 22:1-14 New Living Translation (NLT)

Parable of the Great Feast

22 Jesus also told them other parables. He said,

“The Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by

the story of a king who prepared a great

wedding feast for his son.

When the banquet was ready,

he sent his servants to notify those who were invited.

But they all refused to come!

“So he sent other servants to tell them,

‘The feast has been prepared.

The bulls and fattened cattle have been killed,

and everything is ready. Come to the banquet!’

But the guests he had invited ignored them

and went their own way,

one to his farm, another to his business.

Others seized his messengers

and insulted them and killed them.

“The king was furious,

and he sent out his army to destroy

the murderers and burn their town.

And he said to his servants,

‘The wedding feast is ready, and the guests

I invited aren’t worthy of the honor.

Now go out to the street corners and invite everyone you see.’

10 So the servants brought in everyone they could find,

 good and bad alike,

and the banquet hall was filled with guests.

11 “But when the king came in to meet the guests,

he noticed a man who wasn’t

wearing the proper clothes for a wedding.

12 ‘Friend,’ he asked,

‘how is it that you are here without wedding clothes?’

But the man had no reply.

13 Then the king said to his aides,

‘Bind his hands and feet

and throw him into the outer darkness,

where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

14 “For many are called, but few are chosen.”

3.   Being vomited   VS  Not being vomited

So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold,

I am going to vomit you out of my mouth!

Revelation 3:14-22 New Living Translation (NLT)

The Message to the Church in Laodicea

14 “Write this letter to the angel

of the church in Laodicea.

This is the message from the

 one who is the Amen—

the faithful and true witness, the beginning[a]

of God’s new creation:

15 “I know all the things you do,

that you are neither hot nor cold.

I wish that you were one or the other!

16 But since you are like lukewarm water,

neither hot nor cold,

I will spit you out of my mouth!

17 You say,

‘I am rich.

 I have everything I want.

 I don’t need a thing!’

And you don’t realize that you

are wretched and

miserable and poor and

blind and

naked.

18 So I advise you to buy gold from me—

gold that has been purified by fire.

Then you will be rich.

Also buy white garments

from me so you will not be

shamed by your nakedness,

and ointment for your eyes

so you will be able to see.

19 I correct and discipline everyone I love.

 So be diligent and turn

from your indifference.

20 “Look! I stand at the door and knock.

If you hear my voice and open the door,

 I will come in,

and we will share a meal together as friends.

 21 Those who are victorious

will sit with me on my throne,

just as I was victorious and

sat with my Father on his throne.

22 “Anyone with ears to hear

must listen to the Spirit and

understand what he is saying to the churches.”

4.   He who does not have an ear  VS  He who has an ear

He who has an ear,

let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’”

Revelation 3:22

22“Anyone with ears to hear

must listen to the Spirit and

understand what he is saying to the churches.”

22“Anyone with ears to hear

must listen to the Spirit and

understand what he is saying to the churches.”

22“Anyone with ears to hear

understand what he is saying to the churches.”

6.   You will not fast as you do  VS  the fast that I have chosen

Many Things Changed As For  The Purpose Of

The Old Testament and The New Testament.

But There I one Thing That Never Changes, The Heart Of God

And What He Wants The Focus To Be Of Those That Call His Name.

"No, this is the kind of fasting I want:

Free those who are wrongly imprisoned;

lighten the burden of those who work for you.

Let the oppressed go free,

and remove the chains that bind people.

Isaiah 58 New Living Translation (NLT)

True and False Worship

58 “Shout with the voice of a trumpet blast.
    Shout aloud! Don’t be timid.
Tell my people Israel[a] of their sins!
    Yet they act so pious!
They come to the Temple every day
and seem delighted to learn all about me.
They act like a righteous nation
that would never abandon the laws of its God.
They ask me to take action on their behalf,
pretending they want to be near me.
‘We have fasted before you!’ they say.
    ‘Why aren’t you impressed?
We have been very hard on ourselves,
and you don’t even notice it!’

“I will tell you why!” I respond.
“It’s because you are fasting to please yourselves.
Even while you fast,
    you keep oppressing your workers.
What good is fasting
when you keep on fighting and quarreling?
This kind of fasting
will never get you anywhere with me.
You humble yourselves
by going through the motions of penance,
bowing your heads
like reeds bending in the wind.
You dress in burlap
    and cover yourselves with ashes.
Is this what you call fasting?
Do you really think this will please the Lord?

“No, this is the kind of fasting I want:
Free those who are wrongly imprisoned;
lighten the burden of those who work for you.
Let the oppressed go free,
and remove the chains that bind people.
Share your food with the hungry,
and give shelter to the homeless.
Give clothes to those who need them,
and do not hide from relatives who need your help.

“Then your salvation will come like the dawn,
and your wounds will quickly heal.
Your godliness will lead you forward,
and the glory of the Lord will protect you from behind.
Then when you call, the Lord will answer.
‘Yes, I am here,’ he will quickly reply.

“Remove the heavy yoke of oppression.
Stop pointing your finger and spreading vicious rumors!
10 Feed the hungry,
    and help those in trouble.
Then your light will shine out from the darkness,
and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon.
11 The Lord will guide you continually,
giving you water when you are dry
    and restoring your strength.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
    like an ever-flowing spring.
12 Some of you will rebuild the deserted ruins of your cities.
Then you will be known as a rebuilder of walls
    and a restorer of homes.

13 “Keep the Sabbath day holy.
Don’t pursue your own interests on that day,
but enjoy the Sabbath
and speak of it with delight as the Lord’s holy day.
Honor the Sabbath in everything you do on that day,
and don’t follow your own desires or talk idly.
14 Then the Lord will be your delight.
I will give you great honor
and satisfy you with the inheritance I promised to your ancestor Jacob.
    I, the Lord, have spoken!”

7.   chopped down and thrown into the fire  VS  produce good fruit

Even now the ax of God's judgment is poised,

ready to sever the roots of the trees.

Yes, every tree that does not produce good fruit

will be chopped down and thrown into the fire.

Matthew 3:7-10 New Living Translation (NLT)

But when he saw many Pharisees and Sadducees

coming to watch him baptize,[a]

he denounced them.

“You brood of snakes!” he exclaimed.

“Who warned you to flee the coming wrath?

Prove by the way you live

that you have repented

of your sins and turned to God.

Don’t just say to each other,

‘We’re safe,

for we are descendants of Abraham.’

That means nothing, for I tell you,

God can create children of Abraham

from these very stones.

10 Even now the ax of God’s judgment is poised,

ready to sever the roots of the trees.

Yes,

every tree that does not produce good fruit

will be chopped down and thrown into the fire.

Luke 3:4-14New Living Translation (NLT)

Isaiah had spoken of John when he said,

“He is a voice shouting in the wilderness,
‘Prepare the way for the Lord’s coming!
    Clear the road for him!
The valleys will be filled,
and the mountains and hills made level.
The curves will be straightened,
and the rough places made smooth.
And then all people will see
    the salvation sent from God.’”[a]

When the crowds came to John for baptism,

he said,

“You brood of snakes!

Who warned you to flee the coming wrath?

Prove by the way you live

that you have repented of your sins and

turned to God.

Don’t just say to each other,

‘We’re safe, for we are descendants of Abraham.’

ready to sever the roots of the trees.

Yes, every tree that does not produce good fruit

will be chopped down and thrown into the fire.”

10 The crowds asked, “What should we do?”

11 John replied, “If you have two shirts,

give one to the poor.

If you have food,

share it with those who are hungry.”

12 Even corrupt tax collectors

came to be baptized and asked,

“Teacher, what should we do?”

13 He replied,

“Collect no more taxes than

the government requires.”

14 “What should we do?”

asked some soldiers.

John replied,

“Don’t extort money or make false accusations.

And be content with your pay.”

The Holy Spirit On God

Wants To Teach You

The Word Of God.

If You Do Not Allow Him To Do So

By Listening To The Word

Through Out The Day,

You Will Never Learn What God Expects

You To Do.

8.   I never knew you   VS   Being known by The Father

"Many will say to Me on that day,

'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name,

and in Your name cast out demons,

and in Your name perform many miracles?'
Then I will tell them plainly,

 'I never knew you.

 Away from me, you evildoers!'

Matthew 7:21-29 New Living Translation (NLT)

True Disciples

21 “Not everyone who calls out to me,

‘Lord! Lord!’

will enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

Only those who actually do the will

of my Father in heaven will enter.

22 On judgment day many will say to me,

‘Lord! Lord!

We prophesied in your name and

cast out demons in your name and

performed many miracles in your name.’

23 But I will reply, ‘I never knew you.

Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’

Building on a Solid Foundation

24 “Anyone who listens to my teaching and

follows it is wise,

like a person who builds a house on solid rock.

25 Though the rain comes in torrents and

the floodwaters rise and the winds

beat against that house,

it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock.

26 But anyone who hears my teaching

and doesn’t obey it is foolish,

like a person who builds a house on sand.

27 When the rains and floods come and

the winds beat against that house,

it will collapse with a mighty crash.”

28 When Jesus had finished saying these things,

the crowds were amazed at his teaching,

29 for he taught with real authority—

quite unlike their teachers of religious law.

9.   Enter the wide Gate   VS   Entering the narrow gate

"You can enter God's Kingdom

only through the narrow gate.

The highway to hell is broad,

and its gate is wide for the many

who choose that way.

Matthew 7:12-20 New Living Translation (NLT)

The Golden Rule

12 “Do to others whatever you would

like them to do to you.

This is the essence of all that is taught

in the law and the prophets.

The Narrow Gate

13 “You can enter God’s Kingdom

only through the narrow gate.

The highway to hell[a] is broad,

and its gate is wide for

the many who choose that way.

14 But the gateway to life

is very narrow and the road is difficult,

and only a few ever find it.

The Tree and Its Fruit

15 “Beware of false prophets

who come disguised as harmless sheep

 but are really vicious wolves.

16 You can identify them by their fruit, that is,

by the way they act.

Can you pick grapes from thornbushes,

or figs from thistles?

17 A good tree produces good fruit,

and a bad tree produces bad fruit.

18 A good tree can’t produce bad fruit,

and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit.

19 So every tree that does not produce good fruit

is chopped down and thrown into the fire.

20 Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit,

so you can identify people by their actions.

10. Entering without wedding clothes  VS  Entering with wedding clothes

"But when the king came in to see the guests,

he noticed a man there who was

not wearing wedding clothes.
He asked, 'How did you get in here

without wedding clothes, friend?'

The man was speechless.

Then the king said to his aides,

‘Bind his hands and feet and

throw him into the outer darkness,

where there will be

weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Matthew 22:1-14New Living Translation (NLT)

Parable of the Great Feast

22 Jesus also told them other parables.

 He said,

“The Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated

by the story of a king who prepared

a great wedding feast for his son.

When the banquet was ready,

he sent his servants to notify

those who were invited.

But they all refused to come!

“So he sent other servants to tell them,

‘The feast has been prepared.

The bulls and fattened cattle have been killed,

and everything is ready.

Come to the banquet!’

But the guests he had invited ignored them and

went their own way,

one to his farm,

another to his business.

Others seized his messengers and

insulted them and killed them.

“The king was furious, and

he sent out his army to destroy

the murderers and burn their town.

And he said to his servants,

‘The wedding feast is ready,

and the guests I invited

aren’t worthy of the honor.

Now go out to the street corners and

invite everyone you see.’

10 So the servants brought in

everyone they could find, good and bad alike,

and the banquet hall was filled with guests.

‘Bind his hands and feet and

throw him into the outer darkness,

where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

14 “For many are called, but few are chosen.”

11. Eternity In Hell   VS   Eternity In Heaven

"Do not let your hearts be troubled.

Trust in God; trust also in me.

In my Father's house are many rooms;

if it were not so,

 I would have told you.

I am going there to prepare a place for you.

And if I go and prepare a place for you,

I will come back and take you to be with me

that you also may be where I am.

John 14New Living Translation (NLT)

Jesus, the Way to the Father

14 “Don’t let your hearts be troubled.

Trust in God, and trust also in me.

 There is more than enough

room in my Father’s home.

[a] If this were not so,

would I have told you that I am going to

prepare a place for you?[b]

When everything is ready,

I will come and get you,

so that you will always be with me where I am.

And you know the way to where I am going.”

“No, we don’t know, Lord,”

Thomas said.

“We have no idea where you are going,

so how can we know the way?”

Jesus told him,

“I am the way, the truth, and the life.

No one can come to the Father except through me.

If you had really known me,

you would know who my Father is.[

c] From now on,

you do know him and have seen him!”

Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father,

 and we will be satisfied.”

Jesus replied,

“Have I been with you all this time, Philip,

and yet you still don’t know who I am?

Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father!

So why are you asking me to show him to you?

10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father

and the Father is in me?

The words I speak are not my own,

but my Father who lives in me

does his work through me.

11 Just believe that I am in the Father

and the Father is in me.

Or at least believe because of the work

you have seen me do.

12 “I tell you the truth,

anyone who believes in me will do

the same works I have done,

and even greater works,

because I am going to be with the Father.

13 You can ask for anything in my name,

and I will do it,

so that the Son can bring glory to the Father.

14 Yes, ask me for anything in my name,

and I will do it!

Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit

15 “If you love me, obey[d] my commandments.

16 And I will ask the Father,

and he will give you another Advocate,

[e] who will never leave you.

17 He is the Holy Spirit,

who leads into all truth.

The world cannot receive him, because

it isn’t looking for him and

 doesn’t recognize him.

But you know him, because

he lives with you now and

later will be in you.[f]

18 No, I will not abandon you as orphans—

I will come to you.

19 Soon the world will no longer see me,

but you will see me. Since I live,

you also will live.

20 When I am raised to life again,

you will know that I am in my Father,

and you are in me, and I am in you.

21 Those who accept my commandments and

obey them are the ones who love me.

And because they love me,

 my Father will love them.

And I will love them and reveal myself

to each of them.”

22 Judas (not Judas Iscariot,

but the other disciple with that name) said to him,

“Lord, why are you going to reveal

yourself only to us and not to the world at large?”

23 Jesus replied,

“All who love me will do what I say.

My Father will love them,

and we will come and

make our home with each of them.

24 Anyone who doesn’t love me will not obey me.

And remember, my words are not my own.

What I am telling you is from

the Father who sent me.

25 I am telling you these things now

while I am still with you.

26 But when the Father sends the

Advocate as my representative—

that is, the Holy Spirit—

he will teach you everything and

will remind you of everything

I have told you.

27 “I am leaving you with a gift—

peace of mind and heart.

And the peace I give is a

gift the world cannot give.

So don’t be troubled or afraid.

28 Remember what I told you:

I am going away,

but I will come back to you again.

If you really loved me,

you would be happy

that I am going to the Father,

who is greater than I am.

29 I have told you these things

before they happen so that when

they do happen,

you will believe.

30 “I don’t have much more time to talk to you,

because the ruler of this world approaches.

He has no power over me,

31 but I will do what the Father requires of me,

so that the world will know that I love the Father.

Come, let’s be going.

Then the devil, who had deceived them,

was thrown into the fiery lake of burning sulfur,

joining the beast and the false prophet.

There they will be tormented

day and night forever and ever.

Revelation 20:7-14 New Living Translation (NLT)

The Defeat of Satan

When the thousand years come to an end,

Satan will be let out of his prison.

He will go out to deceive the nations—

called Gog and Magog—

in every corner of the earth.

He will gather them together for battle—

a mighty army, as numberless

as sand along the seashore.

And I saw them as they went up

on the broad plain of the earth

and surrounded God’s people

and the beloved city.

But fire from heaven came down

on the attacking armies and consumed them.

10 Then the devil, who had deceived them,

was thrown into the fiery lake of burning sulfur,

joining the beast and the false prophet.

There they will be tormented day

and night forever and ever.

The Final Judgment

11 And I saw a great white throne

and the one sitting on it.

The earth and sky fled from his presence,

but they found no place to hide.

12 I saw the dead, both great and small,

standing before God’s throne.

And the books were opened,

 including the Book of Life.

And the dead were judged according

to what they had done,

as recorded in the books.

13 The sea gave up its dead,

and death and the grave[a] gave up their dead.

And all were judged according to their deeds.

14 Then death and the grave were

thrown into the lake of fire.

This lake of fire is the second death.
